Public storytelling during construction

Project
Description

  • We’re challenging a 1950s single-family template with a 2025 reality — multi-generational living, hybrid work, and rising costs.
  • Design a home that maintains legal unity while offering a private, flexible suite: an in-law studio, college-age retreat, caregiver space, or office with bath and wet bar.

Competition
Brief

  • Submit one PDF (max 12 pages) with site plan, floor plans, key sections, and 2–4 renderings or diagrams.
  • Include a 350–600 word design statement addressing privacy, circulation, and compliance. Label the suite as Guest/Office Flex Suite (avoid “unit/apartment”).
  • Optional: 30–60s video pitch (link or QR).
  • Permit drawings are not required — the winning design will be developed by a licensed architect.
